Drama, Drama, Drama!!!

what's with all the drama? Everywhere I look, there is drama! You would think that people would just be happy to have a job, but they find ways to complain about everything.

For instance, A friend of mine works down the road from me. She works for a locally owned Gym. She wants to quit because she doesn't like her boss and his wife, but unless she is laid off or fired, she can't afford to quit. She is blessed just to have a JOB!!! Here in the South, as with the rest of the country I am sure, it is difficult to find steady employment. I understand that she has a family and alot of resposibilities , but why should she be collecting unemployment when she is perfectly well able to work? I love her and I understand that she is stressed, but keep working, Honey! You may not be able to find work when you decide you want to go back and unemployment is only temporary.

On the other hand, another friend of mine was laid off from her job about six months ago. She has been steadily looking for a new one and has had no luck. She has a great outlook on everything and she is 'keeping the Faith"! She knows that she will find something soon.

She, considering the circumstances, would have everything to complain about, but she doesn't. She is completely at ease and she even has joy. She told me that she is looking at this trial as a new beginning. I admire that! I know she will make it!

People, don't take your jobs and families for granted. Just to be bringing home a paycheck is a blessing and if you're found faithful with the small things, you will be given more! Patience and Peace are the keys to contentment!

New Gate

Well, this is my first blog post. I feel like a cow at a new gate. I have heard of these things, but i never thought that I would actually have my own. I have to admit, this whole thing about having personal thoughts out in cyber space can be a little scary, but hey, why not?

I am currently trying to write my first novel. Well, actually I have completed my first novel. Now I am working at trying to find an agent. Nobody told me that it would be this hard. All I really want to do is write, get my stories out there, make a difference. Why does everything have to be so complicated?

I found that the hardest part has been writing the query letter. It's the letter that accompanies a copy of the first three chapters of the novel. You send these out to prospective agencies. This letter is supposed to sell the agent on the idea of your book. It's supposed to get them to want to read your chapters. That is hard for me. I love to write, and I have always been pretty good at it, but trying to sell my labor of love and devotion seems to be a daunting task. I have written and re-written this letter about a dozen times. Wish me luck!
